MASONIC BIOGRAPHIES
FAMOUS FREEMASONS
John Greenleaf Whittier
[Tommy Douglas]
Robert Peckham, artist (1833).
1807/12/17 - 1892/09/07
John Greenleaf Whittier has been claimed by several masonic authors as a freemason and noted as the compiler of Masonic Voice Review. No record of either his masonic affiliation or this publication have been found.
John Greenleaf Whittier Chapter, Order of DeMolay, in Massachusetts was so named from his fame as a poet and not any reputed masonic connexion.
A review of his published poetry will reveal no references to Freemasonry.
