There have been more than 4,500 interments in the Masonic Section of Vancouver’s Mountain View Cemetery since 1902 when the two and a half acre section was set aside in an agreement between Mount Hermon Lodge No. 7, Cascade Lodge No. 12, Acacia Lodge No. 22, and the City of Vancouver. The Vancouver Masonic Cemetery Association, with a Board of Trustees appointed by the three lodges, was responsible for administering the masonic section from 1902 until 1 January 1974 when responsibility was returned to the City of Vancouver.
To date, 248 markers of notable freemasons, or with masonic features, have been catalogued. This website features a list of those markers, photographs of them, and a map of the masonic section. This list is current to May 2000. For a complete list of interments, contact Mountain View Cemetery.
It is not within the mandate of this website to provide a full list of interments, nor to provide other information about Mountain View Cemetery. Please contact the Mountain View Cemetery office through their website link provided on the left.
Near the Masonic Section, south of 41st Avenue, is the 1919 Section which also has a number of masonic markers.
