"Well, as you said, sir, the three murderers of the master mason Hiram Abif--architect of the Temple of Solomon--each made a strange statement upon confession... Jubela said: 'would that my throat were cut across'... ...while Jubleo said: 'would that my body were cut in the midst'... ...and Jubelum said: 'would that my left breast were torn and my insides thrown up over my shoulder.'"

This recounting of the Hiramic Legend misspells one of the three ruffian's names while conflating a garbled version of the symbolic penalties with a complete rewrite of the details of the legend. It is not until page 9 of Part 3 that the murders are described as a ceremony called "The Killing of the King", ascribed to various fictional groups: "The Process Union, Shining Path, and New Dawn".
