HISTORY OF TRUE RESOLUTION LODGE No. 16 September 29th, 2019 marked the 100th Anniversary of True Resolution Lodge No.16 under the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Washington and Jurisdiction, F. & A.M. and of Prince Hall Free Masonry in the Province of British Columbia. The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F. & A.M. of Washington was formed in 1903-04, and sixteen years later a group of men, led by RR Lawrence, contacted this Grand Lodge for a dispensation to form a Lodge in Vancouver, BC. This dispensation was granted on September 29th, 1919. On July 26th, 1920 at a Stated Communication of True Resolution Lodge No.16 UD in Vancouver, BC, Most Worshipful Grand Master E.H. Holmes along with Grand Senior Warden W. D. Cole and DDGM A.H. Huddleston were in attendance. The gavel of authority were given to the Grand Master, where he proceeded to open a Grand Lodge in Ample Form for the consecration, dedication and constitution of True Resolution Lodge and installation of its officers. The Grand Marshall proclaimed that True Resolution Lodge was regularly constituted, dedicated and its officers installed. Possessing all the privilege of a subordinate Lodge, True Resolution Lodge holds after 95 years, an acclaimed warrant of authority duly granted by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Washington. We are one of the oldest Lodges in its Jurisdiction, also its only foreign Lodge. True Resolution is committed to involvement in the community, included among its activities are Mothers Day function, Children's Christmas Parties, donation of hampers to the needy and public awareness and educational lectures. The Lodge provided the Isaac Gaiter's Scholarships in honor of its most beloved member, RW Gaiters. True Resolution Lodge No. 16 is in District No. 5 of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Washington and Jurisdiction. True Resolution Lodge Stated Regular Communications are held at Park Lodge Masonic Hall, 4474 Rupert Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, at 11.00 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month.
