Dream Theatre
New York-based progressive metal band, Dream Theater was formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by Mike Portnoy, John Myung, and John Petrucci. The single, "A Rite of Passage", from their June 23, 2009 album Black Clouds & Silver Linings was released on 11 May 2009 with a video of the edited single released on 8 May 2009.

Highly creative and individualistic, the band members are also known for their humour and spontaneity on stage. Unlike many contemporary attempts to cash in on the current popular interest in Freemasonry, Petrucci's lyrics to "A Rite of Passage", while somewhat hermetic in theme, are approbative.
