Perry Mason (1958)
Yet another example of the popular use of the proper name "Mason" in fiction. [00:28:40]

The character of Perry Mason was created by fiction writer Erle Stanley Gardner and named — according to his biographer — after the publisher of his favorite childhood magazine. Perry Mason is featured in more than 80 novels and short stories, a radio series from 1943 to 1955 and a television series broadcast from 1958 to 1966.

There is no reason to see any connexion with Freemasonry. Perry Mason is only noted as another example of the prevalence of the proper name "Mason" in popular fiction.
