King Kong (1933)
Carl Denham says to Ann Darrow : "Now listen Ann. I'm on the level. No funny business." [00:14:00]
Denham had earlier told a talent agent : "You know I'm square...." The agent then replied : "Everyone knows you're square." [00:08:30]
Both expressions were once common usage and not referential to Freemasonry. Although both refer to honesty and trustworthiness, "square", as compared to "on the square", owes more to accounting practices than Freemasonry.
