A masonic gravestone
Found in a Newcastle-upon-Tyne cemetery is an unusual gravestone marked with the United States or Civil War variety of masonic cypher, with the added twist that it is spelt out bottom to top, from right to left:
A FAITHFUL FRIEND
AND LOVING BROTHER
Walter Creighton Bell served as Worshipful Master of Hotspur Lodge No. 1626, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, where a majority of the brethren were engaged in marine commerce and engineering.
