Born in Tyne Valley, Prince Edward Island, George Roy Long, QC, practicing law in Vancouver from 1910 until shortly before his death. He was reputed at one time to have the largest law practice in the city.
Charter president and organizer of the Vancouver Kiwanis Club in January 1919, he remained a life-long member.
During his term as Grand Master, he participated in the initiation of his son, George Roy, Jr. He wrote a number of articles on Freemasonry, such as Key Words.
