[Andrew Henderson]
13 June 1853 - 19 September 1935
Dr Andrew Henderson was born in Sorel, Québec, studying medicine at McGill University before travelling west. As surgeon for the Canadian Pacific Railway he later found himself in Minnesota where he carried on a general practice and lectured at the University of Minnesota. He then moved to Powell River in 1909 and founded St. Luke's Hospital where he continued to work until his retirement in 1922
At various times he filled the position of Coroner, was Secretary of the School Board, and was Medical Health Officer for the District.
