Tom Jones (1963)
As Mr. Partridge, played by Jack MacGowran, and Tom Jones, played by Albert Finney, enter London, over their shoulders can be seen a banner with three compasses and an inverted chevron engrailed [01:37:20], an upside-down version of the arms of the London Carpenters guild. Not masonic per se, the use of compasses can be found on many trade guild banners, including those of stonemasons.
Albert Finney, Susannah York, Hugh Griffith, Edith Evans, Joan Greenwood, Diane Cilento, Lynn Redgrave.
Directed by Tony Richardson, written by Henry Fielding (novel), John Osborne (screenplay).
121 min. UK, English. Eastmancolor, Mono.
