Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Gerry McGeer served as Vancouver mayor for 1935-36.
Remembered for reading the Riot Act in April 1935 before a crowd of unemployed men in Victory Square and for building a new city hall at 12th Avenue and Cambie, more has been written about Gerry McGeer than about any other of the citys mayors.
