Edward Jenner
January 13, 1879 - June 1, 1961
Founder of the service club, Lions Clubs International, on June 7, 1917, Melvin Jones believed that "You can't get very far until you start doing something for somebody else."
In 1950, when membership had passed the 400,000 mark, he was given the title of Secretary-General of Lions International for life.
