Salvador Allende Gossens nace en la ciudad de Santiago, el dia 26 de Junio de 1908. Hijo del Q∴ H∴ Salvador Allende Castro, abogado, funcionario de gobierno por muchos anos y Notario Pùblico; y de Laura Gossens Uribe, hija de un emigrante de origen belga. Nieto de nuestro Ex Gran Maestro, Ramôn Allende Padin, médico, filàntropo, diputado y senador del Partido Radical y voluntario de la Segunda Compahia de Bomberos de Santiago; es bisnieto de Gregorio Allende Garcés, quien fuera el Comandante de la Guardia Personal del Director Supremo, Bernardo O'Higgins, a quién acompanó en su exilio peruano durante ocho anos.
El profano Salvador Allende es insinuado en el Boletin Mensual del 31 de diciembre de 1934. Es iniciado el 16 de noviembre de 1935, en la R∴ L∴ Progreso No. 4, del Valle de Valparaiso, donde también recibe el Segundo Grado, el 27 de octubre de 1937, cuando ya es Diputado por Valparaiso y Quillota. El 8 de noviembre de 1940 se afilia a la R∴ L∴ Hiram No. 65, del Valle de Santiago, siendo Ministro de Salubridad, Previsiôn y Asistencia Social, Taller en que es Exaltado a Maestro el 31 de octubre de 1945.
Como Maestro Masôn, el H∴ Allende es elegido en 1946 Miembro del Tribunal de su Logia; en 1948 es Diputado de su Logia Madre, Progreso No. 4; en 1949 es elegido Primer Vigilante de Hiram No. 65; y es Venerable Maestro de la R∴ L∴ Hiram No. 65, para el periodo 1950-1951.
Se desempeha como Ex Venerable, en Titulo, durante 1951-1952; y debe reasumir el cargo durante el segundo semestre de 1953. Ya es miembro de la Asamblea de la Gran Logia, y se acuerda en la R∴ L∴ Hiram No. 65 distinguirlo como Miembro Honorario del Taller. El dia 21 de junio de 1965, el V∴ H∴ solicita su Carta de Retiro Voluntario, la que es rechazada por sus Hermanos 45 dias después.
El dia 28 de octubre de 1955, en una solemne Tenida de Primer Grado, en la R∴ L∴ Derechos Humanos No. 100, fueron investidos nuevos Caballeros de la Orden de los Constructores Masones, entre los cuales, el H∴ Allende, fue el que agradeciô la distinción a nombre de todos ellos., segùn crónica de la Revista Masónica de ese mismo ano. La fr’a ficha estadistica de la Gran Logia termina sehalando, en sôlo una linea, que el V∴ H∴ Allende pasa a decorar el 0∴ E∴ el dia 11-09-1973.
Salvador Allende Gossens was born in the city of Santiago, 26 June 1908. Son of the Dear Brother2 Salvador Allende Castro, a lawyer, notary public and government official for many years; and Laura Gossens Uribe, daughter of a Belgian emigrant, and the grandson of our Past Grand Master, Ramón Allende Padin, a physician, philanthropist, deputy and senator of the Radical Party and Voluntary at the Second Company of firefighters in Santiago; and great grandson of Gregorio Allende Garcés, who, as Commander of the Personal Guard of the Supreme Director, Bernardo O'Higgins, accompanied him in his eight-year Peruvian exile.
Salvador Allende's name is mentioned in the monthly Bulletin on 31 December 1934. He was: Initiated 16 November 1935,(Real Logia) Royal Lodge Progress No. 4, Valparaiso Valley, where he also received his second degree 27 October 1937, where he was already a Deputy for Valparaiso and Quillota Municipalities and on 8 November 1940 affiliated with the Royal Lodge Hiram No. 65, in the Santiago Valley. Being Health and Social Assisistance found Minister, Shop in which he was exalted to the sublime degree of a Master Mason 31 October 1945.
As Master Mason, Bro. Allende was elected in 1946, as a Member of the Court of his Lodge; in 1948 he was a Grand Lodge delegate for his mother lodge, Progress No. 4; in 1949, First Watchman of Hiram No. 65 and became Worshipful Master of the Royal Lodge Hiram No. 65 from 1950-1951.
Proficient as Immediate Past Master during 1951-1952, he resumed the position of Worshipful Master during the second semester of 1953. He was already a member of Grand Lodge, and he is remembered in the Royal Lodge Hiram No. 65 as a distinguished Honorary Member of the Shop. On 21 June 1965, the Worshipful Brother asked for a demit, which was refused by his brothers 45 days later.
According to the reports of the Masonic Bulletin of the same year, on 28 October 1955, in a solemn rendition of the First Degree in the Royal Lodge Human Rights No. 100, the new Knights of the Order of Constructor Masons were invested, one of whom, Bro. Allende, thanked them for the distinction on behalf of all. The sad fact of the passing of the Worshipful Brother is recorded at Grand Lodge, in a single line: W. Bro. Allende has gone to decorate the Grand Lodge Above, 9 September 1973.
